Dear members,
Thank you for your ongoing support as a member of the International Biennial Association (IBA). Please continue reading for some exciting news from our Editorial Committee.
On December 3, PASS: Journal of the International Biennial Association becomes an online platform!
A public program of IBA, PASS was initiated in December 2018 as an annual print publication. On December 3, 2020, PASS becomes an online platform publishing new contents monthly. PASS bears witness to the critical and experimental role of perennial art events such as biennials and triennials around the world. It presents diverse approaches and divergent perspectives on contemporary art biennials as institutions, curatorial endeavours, artistic opportunities, and public projects. It examines the contemporary art biennial as an active, critical, and evolving form that mobilises and sustains relationships between artists, sites, and audience on varied scales and in different contexts. PASS also aims to advance learning, debate, and advocacy while shaping the public profile of biennials.
PASS features new and upcoming contributions by Adam Khalil / Anne Barlow / Basak Senova / Denise Ferreira da Silva / Maria Thereza Alves / Patrick Flores / Raqs Media Collective / Ruangrupa / Shanghai Biennale Curatorial Team (Andrés Jaque, Filipa Ramos, Lucia Pietroiusti, Marina Otero, YOU Mi) / Solange O. Farkas / Sylvie Fortin / Zineb Sedira / Yuko Hasegawa / Zairong Xiang. It also includes the interviews, essays, and case studies by Adelina Cüberyan von Fürstenberg / Bose Krishnamachari / Claire Tancons / Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro / Gerardo Mosquera / Iara Boubnova / Jens Hoffmann / Jochen Volz / Jonatan Habib Engqvist / Kitty Scott / Natasha Ginwala / Nav Haq / Nevenka Šivavec / Richard Ibghy & Marilou Lemmens / Xenia Kalpaktsoglou published in PASS 1(2018).
