IBA Stage: 9th Biennale Gherdëina
July 16, 2024 (Tuesday)
10:00 am (Ortisei/GMT+2)

Joining us for IBA Stage to tell us more about Biennale Gherdëina is Greta Langgartner, Project Manager of the Biennial set in the Dolomites region of Northern Italy.  A unique example of a Biennial set in a rural  region, hearing from one of the makers of Gherdëina’s biennial with strong personal ties to the area will give us a chance to understand what the model offers to cultural producers in these settings.

Greta Langgartner

Educated at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, where she studied Art Communication and Didactics, Greta has taken up the role as Project Manager for Biennale Gherdëina 9 since 2022, and has been responsible for concept development, budgeting, production, and team coordination for this edition. Additionally, she has been Head of Communication at Galleria Doris Ghetta for various years. Born and raised in Val Gardena, she has an affinity and passion for local culture and history enriched by her longstanding involvement in her family’s business which has given her in-depth knowledge of the local woodcarving tradition and artistic scene.

To have the possibility to hear and discuss with the individuals behind biennials has been a key component of what we believe IBA can offer to our members and the wider public and we value your participation through our live streams. As always IBA Stage events are meant as a moment to hear about a project through its makers and have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
