We are pleased to announce the list of participants of the 4th International Triennial of Graphic Arts Livno.
Like the previous exhibitions, the 4th edition of the international graphic arts event in Livno presents a diverse spectrum of artistic poetics. The exhibition brings together the artistic explorations and reflections of 76 artists from 27 countries. Their works bear witness to the individual universes that currently occupy their attention, as well as to the fundamental artistic credo they have been questioning and developing over the years. Each Triennial offers insight into new artistic worlds—introspective and socially critical alike, environmentally conscious, inspired by new study journeys and fresh horizons that are essential to the creative spark. The exhibition encompasses a broad range of artistic interpretations, from symbolic and sign-based imagery, lyrical and fluid abstractions, and metaphysical worlds, to Op Art, Pop Art, Constructivism, geometric abstraction, and versatile figurative expressions imbued with profound emotional and spiritual depth or a surreal sensibility. Alongside this diversity, the artists reveal the remarkable possibilities of printmaking through linocut, woodcut, and techniques such as aquatint, etching, drypoint, mezzotint, and mixed-media approaches.
Through symbols and signs, artists communicate their highest ideas and ideals. What emerges is a fusion of form and concept—at times intuitive and evocative, at others carefully considered, structured, and guided by reason. In every case, art serves as a catalyst between the artist’s consciousness and society, enabling us to approach a higher reality.
The diversity of artistic poetics and the breadth of excellence in the printmaking métier demonstrated by the participants of the Fourth International Graphic Arts Triennial Livno confirm the importance of art as a visual medium interwoven with every sphere of life and possessing the power to heighten our sensitivity to it. Even today, art remains a refuge for contemporary humanity and a constant messenger of the driving force of human creativity, as well as a voice of human awareness and consciousness.
