IBA Newsletter: March 2026

Dear Subscriber,

We want to open this newsletter by expressing our solidarity with all those affected by the events currently taking place in the Gulf and neighbouring regions. At times like these, the importance of dialogue and cultural exchange becomes even more evident; principles that biennials, art organisations, and our association are committed to supporting. We hope our colleagues remain safe and look forward to future moments when we can gather again and reaffirm these shared values.

We continue to share numerous biennial openings scheduled for 2026 and beyond. Which biennials will you visit? Which would you like to see featured in a future session of IBA Stage? Do not hesitate to contact us and let us know.

Please note that, as the event was postponed last month, IBA Stage featuring the 6th Kochi-Muziris Biennale will take place on March 19th at 4:00 PM (Kochi/GMT+5:30). For more information about this online event and to register, please scroll down to IBA Events for details. We hope to see you there.

As a reminder, we are preparing for our 13th General Assembly, to be held in Sydney, Australia, from June 10-14, 2026, during the closing week of the 25th Biennale of Sydney. As our first Assembly in Oceania, we look forward to welcoming biennial professionals from the region and beyond for what is sure to be a memorable and inspiring gathering. Those interested in attending are requested to confirm their Expression of Interest.

We would also like to remind you that the call for proposals to host the 14th IBA General Assembly in 2027 is currently open. Hosting the General Assembly is a unique opportunity to bring the global biennial community together and to highlight the work of your institution within an international network of peers. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, you can find all the necessary information on our website. We very much look forward to hearing from you. The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2026.
