As part of our introduction to the upcoming IBA Stage event dedicated to the 13th MOMENTUM – Nordic Biennale of Contemporary Art, we are pleased to present Lise Pennington, Director of MOMENTUM and Galleri F 15.
Appointed in 2024, Pennington is leading the biennale into a new chapter, shaping both its institutional direction and its ongoing engagement with artistic and ecological inquiry. Under her directorship, MOMENTUM continues to consolidate its position as one of the Nordic region’s most significant biennials, while also strengthening its international resonance.
Her vision emphasizes MOMENTUM’s unique setting in Moss, Norway, and its deep relationship with the island of Jeløya. Here, the surrounding landscapes of forests, fjords, and coastal environments are not only sites for exhibitions but also integral to how the biennale fosters dialogue between contemporary art, nature, and society.
Lise Pennington will join us to discuss the legacy of MOMENTUM and the ways in which its thirteenth edition, Between/Worlds: Resonant Ecologies, expands the biennale’s commitment to experimentation, site-specific practice, and curatorial innovation as well as introducing us to MOMENTUM and her vision for this key institution in the region.
