23rd Biennale of Sydney – rīvus
July 26, 2022 (Tuesday)
7:00pm (Sydney/GMT+10)
When Barbara Moore (IBA Board Member) was appointed to her current position of CEO of the Biennale of Sydney preparations for the previous edition – Nirin – were already on high tours and we were all still oblivious to the massive changes which the COVID pandemic would impose on our lives and the way we think of exhibition making. Almost three years on and two editions later, we look forward to hearing from her how rīvus was conceived and developed. Her long term engagement with the biennial will also give us a chance to discuss the dynamic of an institution which has seen major changes in the past few years both in terms of structures and topics approached with its projects.
Barbara Moore is Chief Executive Officer of the Biennale of Sydney and a passionate advocate for the arts. Prior to her appointment as CEO, she spent eight years leading the Biennale’s Development team, rallying support for the arts through Australian and international governments, corporate partnerships, philanthropy and major events. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada, and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of South Australia. Her experience in the arts spans 20 years and includes the private, public and not for profit sectors. Currently, Barbara is a Board Member of the International Biennale Association, a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Creative Economy Taskforce, and a member of the Australian Institute for Company Directors.
