As we approach our next IBA Stage, dedicated to Anozero ’26 To hold, to give, to receive, we are pleased to introduce Daniel Madeira, Assistant Curator of Anozero ’26 and Assistant Director at Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra (CAPC).
Joining us on September 3 at 4:00 PM Coimbra time (GMT+1), Daniel brings to the conversation a perspective closely connected to both the curatorial development of the most recent edition of Anozero. Based in Coimbra, Daniel’s academic and professional trajectory has developed in close dialogue with the city’s contemporary art landscape. He holds a BA in Artistic Studies from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and an MA in Curatorial Studies from the Colégio das Artes of the University of Coimbra. He currently serves as Assistant Director at CAPC alongside his role as Assistant Curator of Anozero ’26.
Alongside this institutional work, Daniel has developed a growing body of curatorial projects. These include Staring Contest at CAPC MUSEU (2023–), On the more visible side of the images at the Coimbra Contemporary Art Centre (2024), and 21 minutes pour une image and fight Lookism!! ou O meu olhar é pouco para ver-te for CAPC in 2026. He is also a contributor to Umbigo Magazine.
