IBA Stage: 40th EVA International

We are delighted to have with us Matt Packer to discuss about EVA International last edition, which constituted the 40th edition (read more about the 40th EVA International here) of a festival strongly rooted in the local artistic community but with the stride and ambition to contribute to the international art discourse as the presence of so many key figures throughout its past programs. Another exciting reason to have EVA International with us is to have the opportunity to discuss its strategic plan document (find a link to the document here) which was released in 2019 just before the pandemic laying out a very interesting vision for the institution. It is not often that we see these documents publicized by biennials so we cannot wait to talk more about it!
Matt Packer is CEO / Director of EVA International – Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art, a role he has held since 2017. Prior to this he was Director of Centre for Contemporary Art Derry-Londonderry (N.Ireland) and Associate Director of Treignac Projet (France). Independent curatorial projects include They Call Us The Screamers (TULCA Festival of Visual Art, Galway, Ireland, 2017) and Disappearing Acts (Lofoten International Art Festival, Norway, 2015).
As always IBA Stage events are meant as a moment to hear about a project through its makers and have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
