As we conclude our introduction of guests participating in the upcoming IBA Stage event dedicated to the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, we are pleased to spotlight Swiss artist Kathrin Siegrist.
Kathrin Siegrist is an artist based in Basel, Switzerland. Her practice explores painting as a living, transitional body, one that responds to collective perception, touch, and space. Rooted in the question of organicity, her work investigates how identity transforms through adaptation and relational experience. She aims to create works that invite not only visual engagement but a shared, embodied sense of interiority.
Siegrist holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Basel Academy of Art and Design HGK FHNW. Her work has been shown at numerous institutions including Kunsthalle Basel, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, and Fondation Beyeler, and is part of several collections, among them the Ricola Art Collection.
Her work is currently on view in the context of the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, where her interest in painting as a mutable and relational medium resonates strongly with The Oracle’s curatorial approach, centering the sensitive, the poetic, and the political through acts of listening and embodied engagement.
Join us on August 5th at 11AM CET for a live IBA Stage conversation with Kathrin Siegrist, Nicole L’Huillier, and curator Chus Martínez as they delve into the themes and artistic dialogues behind The Oracle.
Stay tuned for more news from us on this upcoming IBA Stage event and keep following communications on the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts.
To have the possibility to hear and discuss with the individuals behind biennials has been a key component of what we believe IBA can offer to our members and the wider public and we value your participation through our live streams. As always IBA Stage events are meant as a moment to hear about a project through its makers and have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
