With only a few days to go to before the second of our IBAConversations we want to take some time to present our two invited guests who will be discussing the complex ways in which their most recent approaches to biennial making represent a needed example of care and solidarity in the context of contemporary art practice.
Today we would like to present Maria Berrios recently part of the curatorial team of the 11th Berlin Biennale titled “The crack begins within”. She is a sociologist, writer, independent curator, and cofounder of the Chilean editorial collective vaticanochico. Her work traverses art, culture, and politics with a special interest in the collective experiments of the Third World movement and their exhibition formats in the 1960s and 70s. She teaches and lectures regularly in Europe and Latin America and has published extensively on art and politics in Latin America and beyond.
