Fundacion Paiz para la Educacion y la Cultura (Paiz Foundation for Education and Culture) is pleased to share that the twenty-third edition of the Paiz Art Biennial, entitled: “I drank words submerged in dreams,” will take place in July 2023 with an international curatorial team made up of Francine Birbragher and Juan Canela, focusing on new horizons to become an inclusive platform for regional dialogue.
The biennial’s themes, ideas, participants, and structure will be defined in a collective work process with a curatorial assembly made up of the curators and some invited artists. Special attention will be paid to diverse temporalities and spatialities that can gradually weave the link between writing and orality with the idea of community in relation to the territory, articulating narratives that challenge the hegemonic story but also imagining futures that delve into the possibilities of lives in common.
A call for artists was launched to nurture curatorial development and expand opportunities for the participation of artists born or residing in the country.
