The International Scientific Symposium of Graphics Arts Livno, on the topic, Perspective of Traditional Graphic Art Practice in Contemporary Graphic Arts Identity was supposed to be held last year as part of the program of the 2nd International Triennial of Graphics Arts Livno. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium was postponed. The symposium will be held this year on November 4 in the Franciscan Museum and Gallery Gorica-Livno, in compliance with all epidemiological measures.
One of the goals of the International Triennial of Graphic Arts in Livno is to contribute to the preservation of traditional graphic skills that are slowly disappearing. This does not mean that this event will not follow current contemporary trends and that it will not allow authors to present the traditional graphic medium through the prism of contemporary tendencies. This was already evidenced by the graphics of several artists who have presented the traditional print through a contemporary medium or in combination with it.
The organizer wants to contribute to the strengthening of various cultural and artistic dialogues and, based on the exchange of experiences of 11 graphic experts, to gain a better insight into the future of existing graphic production in the region and the world.
