4th General Assembly Schedule of Events

The 4th General Assembly will take place September 25 – 28 in Yokohama, Japan. It is hosted by Yokohama Triennale and organized by the IBA Office.

Those attending the 4th General Assembly are recommended to arrive on September 25th.
Those attending the 8th Board Meeting are recommended to arrive on September 24th.
The closest airport to Yokohama is Haneda Airport (HND).

13:30 – 15:30    International Seminar: CONNECTIVITY AS A METHOD? The Future of Contemporary Art and Biennales/Triennales

In this international seminar, Soichiro Fukutake, the founder of Benesse Art Site Naoshima, is invited to give a keynote speech about his experiences in creating the various infrastructures in Naoshima through contemporary art, followed by a panel discussion on the future of biennales and triennale, in order to discuss the fundamental value of art and its contribution to generating new social values, and seek how future biennales/triennales could connect art with the various aspects in our society.
